Crowden Brook
A couple of days ago I had a good walk starting in Crowden Brook.
A very clean morning with a freezing sunshine and after climbing Crowden on the footpath to Black Hill there was no one around. The landscape looked and felt as barren and lonely (bar some sheep) as if I was walking there 2,000 years ago or more. The hills are still compacted from the sheer weight of the last glaciation. Just a few jet trails against the clear blue sky would contradict this illusion.
